Attendance Attendance

Parents will be contacted every time a student is absent. To facilitate attendance accounting, please contact the Palm Academy office at 437-PALM (7256) when your student is absent. School hours are: 7:30 AM-12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Unexcused tardies and unexcused absences (truancies) may result in detention, credit loss, and referral to the School Attendance Review Board (SARB), which in turn refers flagrant violators to the juvenile court system.

Students are required to attend school daily and to make progress toward their educational goals. Students must be on time, bring required materials, and dress appropriately (the dress code is listed in the District Discipline Action Guide). Cell phone usage is not permitted during class. The school phone is available for parent communication during the school day. Bicycles and skateboards must be checked in at the Palm Academy office before school starts and may be retrieved after school. Our students are expected to treat other students and the staff with respect.

The Coronado High School campus is off limits to Palm Academy students at all times. The only exceptions are when a student is enrolled in a CHS class or when a student has specific WRITTEN permission from Palm. Those students are allowed to be on the CHS campus during that particular class period or for that particular purpose only.

Students are subject to the Coronado Unified School District Discipline Policy. In addition, state law makes it illegal to possess any of the following at school: weapons, alcohol, tobacco products, and illegal drugs or paraphernalia. Students in possession of any of these items will be suspended or expelled.
